11 Ducklings Rescued from Storm Drain

Firefighters near Daytona Beach were able to rescue 11 baby ducks that had gotten trapped in a storm drain. According to a news release from the city of New Smyrna Beach posted on Monday, September 5, nearby community members noticed that a mother duck was acting very concerned outside a storm drain grate. They called the local authorities, who dispatched a crew of firefighters to investigate.

Firefighters were able to use a ladder to access the ducklings and rescue them. They were all unharmed and scurried off with their mother.
